The best way to maximize your workout and insure you stay injury free is to always practice perfect form. From lifting weights, to running, to sit-ups, every exercise needs to be executed with perfect form. The general rule of thumb is to keep your core tight, back straight, and head and chest up. When performing any exercise where you bend your knees (squats, lunges, etc.) always ensure that your knee stays above your ankle as much as possible. If you are lifting weights and can't keep proper form drop down to a lighter weight and work your way up. The main rule of exercise is safety first. An injured person can't exercise, so practicing perfect form will keep you injury free and in top shape.
